Private Client Services

We provide our clients with thorough and complete tax driven support but we offer a wide range of complementary services as well. Often we find clients use us as a "sounding board" on a variety of matters taking advantage of the breadth of experience of our Partners and staff; if we cannot help we have contacts that can.

Tax return preparation for individuals is becoming increasingly complex; we reduce the burden whilst looking for opportunities to achieve savings. Family situations are reviewed with the aim of planning for present and future requirements and to protect and enhance wealth and assets. We offer practical planning advice and compliance services, including assistance with:

  • Preparation, completion and submission of annual income tax returns
  • Utilisation of income tax and capital gains tax deferral relief where investments have been made under the enterprise investment scheme or venture capital trusts
  • Reviewing and maximising the benefit wherever possible of the selection of tax reliefs/claims/elections often available to taxpayers
  • Capital gains tax entrepreneurs’ relief, capital loss and negligible value claims
  • Using the availability of a main residence tax election to reduce capital gains tax where more than one property is owned
  • HM Revenue & Customs enquiries and investigations including correspondence, meetings and negotiations as necessary
  • Calculations, documentation and correspondence with HM Revenue & Customs taking advantage of the Liechtenstein Disclosure Facility (LDF); we have assisted a number of clients and other advisors on the LDF including the opening of accounts where necessary; we have also undertaken disclosures to HMRC on behalf of clients who have sought to regularise their tax affairs
  • Calculations for inheritance tax and all related matters such as business property relief, gift planning, pre owned assets tax, ten year anniversary charges
